TAILÂNDIA / THAILAND - Kanchanaburi, Pattaya and Ayutthaya

Cidade/city: Kanchanaburi - River Kwai

 
Fiz uma excursão de três dias para o rio Kwai, 128 km de Bangkok. Fiquei num hotel flutuante na beira do rio, não tinha água quente no chuveiro mas tinha ar condicionado e wifi!

(I had a three day trip to the River Kwai,  it is 128 km far from Bangkok, I stayed in a Floating house and there wasnt any hot water in the shower but there was air condition and wifi!).

  A ponte sobre o rio Kwai - essa ponte foi construída pelo Japão na segunda guerra mundial, e as forças aliadas bombardearam a ponte em 1944.
(The Bridge over the River Kwai - Japan constructed this Bridge during the world war II and allied forces bombed the iron Bridge in 1944).

 

Cemitério da guerra - aproximadamente 7.000 trabalhadores estão enterrados lá, os quais sacrificaram suas vidas durante a construção da ferrovia.
(War Cemetery - around 7.000 workers who sacrified their lives in the railway construction, are burried there).

Memorial 'hellfire pass' - é dedicado aos prisioneiros da guerra e trabalhadores asiáticos que sofreram e morreram durante a segunda guerra mundial.
(Hellfire pass memorial - it is dedicated to the allied prisioners of war and Asian labourers who suffered and died during the II world war.)

Templo dos tigres ou Wat Luang Ta Bua - é um templo budista fundado em 1994 como floresta e santuário de animais selvagens, entre eles muitos tigres.
(Tiger temple or Wat Luang Ta Bua - it is a Buddhist temple founded in 1994 as a forest temple and sanctuary for wild animals, among them several tigers).

Cidade/city: Pattaya

Fica a 100 km de Bangkok e é uma praia muito popular para turistas. Fomos a Ilha de Corais onde pudemos ver os corais de perto e fomos também na praia de Tien para almoçar.
(It is about 100 km southeast of Bangkok and it is popular with tourists. We visited the Coral island and could see the coral reef and the underwater life. We also went to Tien beach for lunch).

 

 

 

5 metros de profundidade, foi uma experiência incrível.
(5 mts deep, great experience).

Cidade/city: Ayutthaya

Passamos um dia nessa cidade conhecendo os lugares abaixo.
Ayutthaya, ou cidade antiga, foi fundada em 1350 pelo rei King U Thong.
(We spent a day in this city, visiting the places bellow.
Ayutthaya, Ancient city, was founded in 1350 by the King U Thong).

Wat Phra Si Sanphet
 

 Lugar/place: Ayutthaya - Summer Palace,  the Royal Palace at Bang Pa In.

Esse local é agora usado pelo Rei King Rama IX e a rainha Sirikit como residência e para recepções e banquetes.
(Now the Palace is used occasionally by Their Majesties King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit as a residence and for receptions and banquets.)

 

 

 

  Lugar/place: Viharn Phra Mongkoi Bopit

Um dos maiores budas de bronze na Tailândia.
(One of the largest bronze Buddha's in Thailand)

  Retornamos do nosso passeio de barco pelo rio Chaophraya.
(We returned by boat by the Chaophraya River)

TAILÂNDIA / THAILAND - Bangkok

Cidade/city: Bangkok

 A primeira impressão da cidade não é nada boa... Povo pobre e situação precária. Mas a medida que vai conhecendo as pessoas e suas histórias, você vai se apaixonando pelo país. 

Tailândia tem 69 milhões de pessoas, 34.000 templos e 94% da população é Budista.  Em Bangkok a população é de 6.4 milhões. A moeda é o baht que é muito inferior ao dólar ou real, o que torna tudo muito barato.
Comprei todos os pacotes de viagem no próprio hotel, conforme segue abaixo.
(The first impression when you arrive in Bangkok is not very good... Many poor people and not a clean place. But as you get to know the people there, their history, you will just love them, The population in Thailand is 69 million inhabitants, there are 34.000 temples and 94% of the population is Buddist. In Bangkok there are 6,4 million people. The currency is baht and is very low comparing to dollar or real, things are very cheap though.
I bought all my package tours in the hotel).

Lugar/Place: Grand Palace

O palácio tem sido a residência oficial dos Reis de Siam desde 1782 e é lá que está o templo do Buda Esmeralda.
(The Palace has been the official residence of Kings of Siam since 1782 and it is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.)

 

 

 

 

Wat Phra Kaew

 

Lugar/place: Floating market - Damnernsaduak

Um lugar incrível, bem típico, parece que voltamos no tempo. É um comércio na água, onde podemos comprar comida, frutas, flores, roupas e demais coisas.
(Almost untouched by the modern world, we can see the farmers selling food, fruits, flower and many kind of local products in their boats).

Lugar/place: Rose garden - the Thai Village

É uma apresentação onde podemos ver como é uma típica vila tailandesa, mostrando as cerimônias, o casamento, as lutas e a dança folclórica.
(The Thai village is a place where I could see the typical cerimonies, the Thai wedding, the sword fighting, kick-boxing and folk dance).

 

Lugar/place: Wai Traimit temple, the Golden Buddha

O Buda de Ouro é a maior estátua de ouro sólido, contendo 5.5 ton. de ouro e foi esculpida em estilo 'sukhothai'.

(The Golden Buddha is the largest solid gold statue, with 5.5 tonnes of solid gold and sculptured in sukhothai style).

Lugar/place: Wat Pho temple, Reclining Buddha.

Uma estatua enorme do Buda deitado e mede 46 metros de comprimento e 15 metros de altura e folheado em ouro. Ela fica no templo Wai Pho.
(A stunning statue with 46 mts long and 15 mts high covered in gold leaf. It is in Wat Pho temple.)
 
 No pé indica 108 símbolos de Buda.
(Foot indicating 108 auspicious symbols of Buddha)

Lugar/place: Wat Benchamabophit temple, the Marble Temple.

O templo de Mármore, é uma mistura de arquitetura tailandesa e européia. Podemos também ver uma coleção rara de imagens de Buda.
(The Marble temple is a mixture of Thai and European architecture, which houses a unique collection of rare Buddha images).

HONG KONG

Cidade/city: Hong Kong

Minha intenção era parar em Hong Kong e de lá ir para a China visitar um ex-aluno Igor e sua esposa que moram em Nanjing, mas não tive tempo de tirar o visto. Então eles vieram me encontrar em Hong Kong.

(I thought about stop in Hong Kong and then go to China to visit my former student Igor and his wife in Nanjing, but I didn't manage to get the visa. So they came to Hong Kong to see me).

Victoria Peak:É conhecido como Monte Austin ou The Peak, é a montanha mais alta de Hong Kong que fica no oeste da ilha. Tem uma altitude de 552 mts.
(It is a mountain in the western half of Hong Kong island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as the Peak. With an altittude of 552 m., it is the highest mountain on the island).

 
 


Lantau Island

É a maior ilha em Hong Kong.
Lá visitamos Tian Tan Budda que é o maior Buda sentado. Ele pesa 250 toneladas e tem 34 metros de altura.
(It is the largest seated Buddha in bronze. It's over 250 tonnes and 34 mt in height).

 

 

Avenue of Stars - Victoria Bay
É como a calçada da Fama em Hollywood, com as marcas das mãos e assinaturas de artistas famosos de Hong Kong, como a de Bruce Lee. Tem mais de 440 mts ao longo da orla.
(It is a sidewalk on the share that is modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame which has the handprints and signatures of famous Hong Kong actors such as Bruce Lee. It stretches for about 440 meters along the shoreline).

 

 De lá temos a visão dos arranha céus de Hong Kong e a noite há show de luzes com música e diálogos.
(We can see the most of the tall buildings on Hong Kong island, and at night as part of light show, music and dialogue are played)

A MALA / THE SUITCASE

A mala / The Suitcase

Quando cheguei na Capadocia/Turquia dia 18.08, minha mala foi quebrada... Não acreditava naquilo que via, pois teria que abandonar o único link que ainda tinha do meu país, da minha família e amigos...

Comprei outra mala é claro, mas a dor da perda foi muito mais do que eu queria, bateu a saudade de todos e a vontade de voltar para casa.

Com ela visitei 19 países e agora era hora de abandoná-la e continuar sozinha...

(When I arrived in Cappadocia/Turkey, my suitcase had been broken. It was hard to face the fact that I was going to leave it there. The suitcase was a link with my country, family and friends... I bought other one but this incident made me feel homesick for few days. That luggage travelled 19 countries with me and now I was feeling that I was on my own...)
