ISTAMBUL 

Lugar/ place: Palácio Topkapi

Foi construído por Mehmet II em 1459 e foi residência dos sultões por três séculos.
O Harém contem mais de 400 cômodos e era privado para o sultão, só ele podia entrar. Lá ficava a mãe do sultão, suas esposas e concubinas, e o resto da família incluindo seus filhos e empregados.

(Construction began in 1459 ordered by Sultan Mehmet II, it was the residence of the sultans for aproximately 400 years.) 

(The Harem occupied one of the sections of the private apartments of the Sultan, it contained more than 400 rooms. The harem was home to the sultan's mother, the valid Sultan, the concubines and wives of the Sultan, and the rest of his family including children and their servants).

 

 

 

 

 

Lugar/place: The Blue Mosque.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque, mas é conhecida por Mesquita Azul devido aos azulejos azuis em seu interior. Foi construída entre 1609 e 1616 por Ahmed I.
(The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. It was built from 1609 to 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I).

 

 

Lugar/Place: St. Sophia

Foi construída no período de 537 até 1452, serviu de igreja Ortodoxa, depois Mesquita e agora é museu. Os mosaicos foram decorando a igreja durante os séculos.
(From the date of its construction in 537 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral, later an imperial mosque and now a Museum. The church was richly decorated with mosaics throughout the centuries.)

ESTÔNIA / ESTONIA - Tallin

Cidade/city: Tallin

Peguei um barco muito confortável de Helsinki a Tullin que levou duas horas para chegar.

A Estônia é um país com população de 1.3 milhões e a cidade de Tallin tem 420.000 people.
(The cruise from Helsinki to Tullin took two hours. Estonia has a population of 1.3 milion and the city of Tallin has 420 thousand people).

Tallin tem mais de 800 anos e a cidade se divide em Old Town, cidade velha, e Lower town, cidade baixa.
(Dating back as far as the 13th century, the city divides as Old Town and Lower Town).

 

 

 

 

 Raeapteek, Town Hall Pharmacy - Farmácia

É uma das farmácias mais antigas que ainda funciona na Europa, datada de 1422. Antigamente os pacientes podiam comprar 'suco de múmia'  e 'abelhas torradas' para seus tratamentos.
(One of the oldest continuously running pharmacies in Europe, dated in 1422. In medieval times patients could buy mummy juice and burnt bees for treatment.)

 

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
É uma catedral ortodoxa russa do século XIII.
(It is the Russian Orthodox cathedral in the early 13th century).

Uma visita rápida, apesar do tempo chuvoso, mas adorei o pais.

(It was a quick visit, although the bad weather, I loved the country.)

 

 

 

FINLÂNDIA / FINLAND - Helsinki and Keuruu

Cidade/city: Helsinki

É a capital da Finlândia e tem aproximadamente 600.000 pessoas. Ela está a 80 Km de Tallin/Estônia e 190 km de São Petersburgo na Rússia (por isso decidi conhecer esses países também).
(It is the capital of Finland and has a population of 600.000 people. Helsinki is located some 80 km north of Tallin, Estonia and 190 km west of Saint Petersburg, Russia. That is the reason I included these countries in my trip).

A Praça do Senado contem a belíssima catedral, foi construída durante o governo russo como um tributo a Czar Nicholas.

(Senate Square the Catedral - an iconic landmark. Built during the Russiam rule as a tribute to Czar Nicholas.)

É o principal mercado aberto, de lá saem os passeios de barco pelo arquipélago.
(The main open market, there is the departure of cruises to see the archipelago)

(Uspensky Cathedral, Orthodox church).

 O Parlamento da Finlândia
(Parliament of Finland)

 A estação de trem.
(Railway station)

 Museu Kissma de arte contemporânea.
(Kiasma Museum of contemporary art).

 Temppeliaukio ou conhecida como Rock Church, a igreja na Rocha, é a igreja construída na pedra. Foi construída em 1960 e o formato único das janelas permita passar a luz suficiente para dentro da igreja.
(Templo church or Rock church, literally it is a church in the rock. It was built in 1960 and the uniquely formed windows allow sufficient light into this remarkable church).



Cidade/city: Keuruu

Uma das razões de incluir essa cidade no meu roteiro foi ser convidada a participar do casamento da filha do Harri e Susanna, a Sannukka, que ja estiveram comigo no Brasil.

Foi uma experiência maravilhosa pois pude viver a cultura do pais e diferentes costumes.
(One of the reasons I chose to visit Finland was the fact I had been invited to attend Sannukka's wedding, daughter of Harri and Susanna who had already been to Brazil.
This was an unique experience, I could learn about the culture and costumes from the country).

Mertaniemi Family

 A família da Susanna são músicos, portanto eles tocaram durante o casamento. E adivinhem essa música? Garota de Ipanema... Muito bom!
(Susanna has a musical family, her brothers played during the wedding. And guess the song? The girl of Ipanema. Briliant!)

 A Finlândia tem muitos lagos, aproximadamente 188 mil, e quase todos tem suas casas na beira de um lago.
Fomos passear por Multia e tive a oportunidade de comer as frutas vermelhas no pé... as 'berries' como são conhecidas.
(Finland has many lakes, about 188 thousands, and almost everybody lives by the lake.
They took me to Multia and I could see and eat all the berry fruits.)

 O Harri me levou para conhecer o zoológico, ver os animais que nao temos no Brasil.
(Harri took me to the zoo and I could see the animals we do not have in Brazil).

 A velha igreja de madeira de Keuruu, construída em 1758. Lá eu pude ver a arquitetura rural finlandesa do século 18.

(The old wooden church in Keuruu was built in 1758. It is one of the most impressive examples of Finnish rural architecture in the 18th century.)

RÚSSIA / RUSSIA - Peterhuf, Palácio de Verão (Summer Palace)

Lugar/Place: Peterhof - Palácio de Verão / Summer Palace

 Tive que fazer um post separado, tamanho foi a surpresa que tive quando  me deparei com esse palácio! Já tinha visitado Versailles na França, pois dizem que esse é uma cópia, mas suas fontes de água, jardins, construção... são belíssimas!!!!

(I had to write a separate post about this place. It is such a beautiful Palace! I had been at Versailles in France, which people say is a copy, but the water fountains, gardens and construction are amazing!!!)

A construção do palácio acabou em 1721 e lá estão mais de 80 estátuas e esculturas originais de mármore.
(The building was completed in 1721 and there are more than 80 original marble statues and sculputures)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Todas as fontes do palácio funcionam sem bombas, a água vem de fontes naturais de reservatórios dos jardins.
(All of the fountains operate without the use of pumps, water is supplied from natural springs and collects in reservois in the gardens.)

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

  

 

 

 

  

Tive um dia maravilhoso e nao consegui visitar todo o palácio e jardins. Pode-se ir e voltar de barco que sai em frente ao palácio Ermitage.
(I had a wonderful day but I couldn't visit all the Palace and gardens. You can go and return by boat leaving from Ermitage Palace.)
