Cidade/city: New Plymouth - Taranaki

 Essa ê a cidade onde meus amigos moram. Fica na região de Taranaki  e lá tem o Monte Egemont de 2.500 m de altitude (pude avistá-lo da casa de Anne).

(This is the city my friends live. It is located in Taranaki region and there is the famous Mount Egemont with 2.500 m high, and I could see it from my friends house).

 

Tive a oportunidade de visitar uma escola local.

(I had a chance to visit a local school).

Eles me levaram conhecer as cidades ao redor do monte Egemont, como Stratford e outras praias ao redor.
Anne & Alan obrigada por compartilhar seu país, sua família e sua cultura comigo. Adorei a Nova Zelandia e revê-los.
(They took me to visit other towns around Mount Egemont, Stratford and other beaches.

Cidade/city: Wellington

É a capital da NZ e tem população de 397.000 residentes. De lá saem as balsas para a ilha do Sul e fica entre o Estreito de Cook e cordilheira de Rimutaka.
(It is the capital city and it is at the southwestern tip of the North island, between Cook Strait and Rimutaka Ranfe. The urban area is home to 397.900 residents).

Cidade/city: Auckland

É a maior e mais populosa cidade de NZ com população de 1.529.300 de habitantes.
(It is the largest and most populous urban area in the country with a population of 1.529.300 inhabitants.)

Sky Tower - é onde conseguimos ter a vista toda de Auckland,  a torre tem 328 mts e pode-se fazer skyjump lá.
(Sky Tower - we can see the city from the top, the tower is over 1,076 feet - 328 mts, you can do skyjump there).

Bar de gelo com temperatura de -5 graus... Tin-tin!

Cidade/city: Rotorua

Essa cidade é construída sobre um ponto quente geotermico e existem numerosas aberturas naturais, piscinas quentes em torno da cidade. Erupções de vapor, água quente e lama acontecem com freqüência nessa região.

(Rotorua is built over a geothermal hot spot. There are numerous natural vents, hot pools and other geothermal features in and around the city. Natural eruptions of steam, hot water and mud occasionally occur in new locations.)

Lugar/place: Wai-o-Tapu

 

Na língua maori significa águas sagradas, cobrindo uma área de 18 km2 e está situado no interior da maior caldeira vulcânica da região de Taupo. Pudemos conhecer até um geyser, o Lady Knox.
(In maori language means Sacred Waters) covering some 18 sq.km, it is located right on the edge of the largest volcanic caldera within the active Taupo volcanic zone. We could see Lady Knox Geyser).

Lugar/place: Te Puia

 

Lugar onde podemos aprender sobre a cultura maori, conhecendo uma reserva  geotermica e o Pohutu Geyser que tem erupções umas 20 vezes por dia. Aconteceu uma enquanto estávamos lá.
(We listened to stories of their ancestors and maori culture. There is a geothermal reserve with thermal activities ranging from boiling mud to the 30 mt Pohutu Geyser, which erupts up to 20 times a day. We saw it happens.)

 Assistimos a um show típico onde mostrava a cultura maori, suas armas, dança e música.
(This performance celebrates the very best of Maori performing arts, including weaponry displays, action songs and dance).

 

 



Lugar/place: Waitomo cave

É uma caverna ou gruta que no escuro passeamos de barco e podemos ver larvas e vagalumes que produzem um efeito luminoso. É como se fosse uma noite estrelada. Nao pode tirar fotos lá dentro.

(There are thousands of glowworms as you glide silently by boat into the cave. Photos are not allowed).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOVA ZELÂNDIA / NEW ZEALAND (N. Island) - Hamilton, Tauranga and Hobbiton

North Island

 Cidade/city: Hamilton

Agora estava chegando na Oceania e iria me encontrar com meus amigos Anne & Alan. NZ é dividida em duas ilhas, Sul e Norte, eles moram em New Plymouth que fica no norte.

Primeira parada foi em Hamilton na casa da filha Angela. Fomos conhecer o jardim botânico e eles me introduziram a cultura 'mouri' que era a língua falada pelos primitivos.
(I was arriving in the Oceania and meet my friends Anne and Alan. NZ is divided in two islands, North and South, they live in New Plymouth in the north.
First place we went was Hamilton, city where their daughter Angela lives. They took me to Bothanical Gardens and introduced me to the mauri culture, the first inhabitants language).

 

 

Cidade/city:  Tauranga

 

Fomos visitar Tony, outro filho de Anne, que mora com sua família numa fazenda de leite... Criam vacas leiteiras, 'milk farms' como eles chamam. A indústria de leite e pecuária é muito forte na NZ. Tive a oportunidade de conhecer de perto!
(We visited Tony and his family, he is Anne's son and works with milk farming business, it is a very strong industry there. He showed me all around his farm).

(Thanks Tony, I loved meeting your family).

 

  No caminho de volta Anne foi me mostrando os lugares turísticos, como o pássaro símbolo do país, que está em extinção, o Kiwi.
(The way back to Anne's home they were showing me typical things from their country, like the kiwi bird which is in extintion.)

(The typical soft drink: L&P).

 E todos os produtos que ficaram famosos na NZ, chamados Kiwiana.
(These are all the products that became famous in NZ, they call them 'kiwiana').

 

 Cidade/city: Hobbiton

 

A cidade onde foi filmado cenas do filme Hobbit. A fazenda chama-se Alexssander e há um tour onde o guia explica onde foi filmado cenas do filme. Muito legal!
(The town where Hobbit movie was set. The farm cala Alexssander  and I did sightseeing there. Very cool!)
