FRANÇA / FRANCE - Giverny (Monet), Vale de Loire and Versailles

Foi bem rápida a visita nessa cidade, mas pudemos conhecer a casa onde o pintor Monet viveu de 1883 até 1926, quando morreu. Os jardins continuam como eram desde sua época e sua casa se tornou museu e foi aberta para o público em 1980.  

(We had a quick visit to this city but we could visit Monet's house, where he lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. The gardens were replanted as they once were and the house became a Museum opened to public in 1980.)

 

 

 

 

Lugar/place: Vale de Loire - Loire Valley

É uma paisagem cultural de grande beleza, contendo vilas e cidades históricas, grandes monumentos arquitetônicos, os seus muitos castelos (chateaux) e os seus vinhos. Visitamos três 'chateauxs', castelos: Chambord, Cheverny and Chaumont.

(Notable for its historic towns, architecture, many castles and wines. We visited three castles: Chambord, Cheverny and Chaumont).

 Lugar/Place: PALÁCIO DE VERSAILLES

 

O palácio de Versailles fica somente a 20 km de Paris e se tornou importante quando Louis XIV se mudou de Paris para Versailles em 1682. Serviu de residencia para Louis XV e também Louis XVI e sua esposa Maria Antonieta.

Seus jardins são maravilhosos, representando os jardins franceses.

(It is a wealthy suburb of Paris, some 20 km of the capital. It became the centre of political power in France in 1682 when Louis XIV moved from Paris. During the reign of Louis XV Versailles underwent transformation and Louis XVI and his wife Marie-Antoniette contributed to the gardens' transformation).
