Pegamos vôo e em 35 minutos estávamos na ilha. Chegando no outro resort Fairmont Kea Lani, Erin foi surpreendida com um mini bolo de aniversário!

O hotel era maravilhoso e aproveitamos tudo o que ele oferecia.
(It was a 35 minutes flight from Big Island to Maui. When we arrived in the other Fairmont resort, Kea Lani, Erin got a surprise: a birthday cake!
The hotel was amazing and we enjoyed everything it offered.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 A bebida típica no Havai é o Mai Tai, um cocktail de rum, licor de curacau e limão.
(Mai Tai is the Hawaiian traditonal drink and it is a cocktail bases on rum, curacao liqueur and lime).

 

 

 Maui é a segunda maior ilha e tem uma população de 144.444 pessoas.
Como tínhamos alugado carro, Erin fez a famosa volta na ilha, chamada Hãna road. Ruas estreitas e cenários maravilhosos. Paramos em famosas praias de surf.
(Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian islands and its population is 144,444.
We rented a car so Erin drove around the Island, the famous Hãna Road considered one of the last unspoilled Hawaiian frontiers. We visited some surf beaches).

 

 

 

 Fui passar umas horas com brasileiras que moram em Maui. Conhecia a Carmem e as outras eram amigas que já moravam lá há anos.
(I met some Brazilians who live in Maui, I knew Carmem and the others are her friends who are living there for few years).

HAVAÍ / HAWAII - Honolulu and Big Island

Cidade/city: Honolulu

Sai da Nova Zelândia  sábado de manhã e cheguei no Havai na sexta a noite... Coisas de diferença de horas. Conclusão, tive duas sextas-feiras e sábado.

Honolulu é a maior cidade do Hawai com quase 1.000.000 pessoas e o destino mais conhecido é a praia Waikiki.

(I left NZ on Saturday morning and arrived in Hawaii on Friday evening... Becsuse of the time zones. So I had two Fridays and Saturdays!
Honolulu is the largest city in Hawaii and the population of nearly one million people and the best known tourist destination is Waikiki Beach.)

 

Cidade/city: Big Island

Big Island, ou Ilha Grande, é a mesma coisa que ilha do Havaí. E é lá que está o maior vulcão ativo do mundo, localizado no parque nacional, e também a mais alta montanha do mundo, a Mauna Kea.
Minha amiga Erin estava me esperando num resort chamado Faimont Orchid em Kohala coast, e ficamos lá por uma semana.
(The Island of Hawaii comprises over half of the area of the state of Hawaii and it is called Big Island. It is home to the most active volcano in the world, located in Hawaii Volcanoes National park, as well as the tallest mountain in the world as measured from its base on the sea floor to its peak, Mauna Kea.
My friend Erin was waiting for me in a resort called Fairmont Orchid in Kohala coast and we stayed there for a week).

Minha primeira experiência com snorkel. Erin me ensinou e ficou comigo o tempo todo. Nadamos com as tartarugas e vimos peixes de cores maravilhosas! Uma experiência incrível.
(My first time snorkling. Erin taught me and stayed with me all the time. We swan with turtles and saw amazing coloured fish. An unforgetable experience).

Estando no Havaí eu queria conhecer um luau e então fomos em um onde comemos a comida típica feita pelos nativos e depois assistimos a um show típico. Na entrada eles davam o colar havaiano de flores chamado 'lei'.
(Being in Hawaii I had to go to a Luau party, then we went in one which had typical dinner meal and the traditonal dances. We got the flower necklace called 'lei' when we arrived there.)

 
 

Era aniversario de Erin, então subimos a montanha Mauna Kea bem cedinho, para vermos o nascer do sol... Inesquecível! Ela tem 4.207 metros.
(It was Erin's birthday and we drove to the top of the Mona Kea mountain to see the sunrise... Incredible! It is 13,803 ft.)

 
 As comemorações continuavam... Fizemos um vôo de helicóptero, de portas abertas, para ver as larvas do vulcão Kilauea, o vulcão mais ativo do mundo. Uma sensação indescritível, pois sentia o calor que vinha debaixo. Uma hora de muitas aventuras!
(The celebration continues and we went to a ride in a doors off helicopter. We flew over Kilauea, the world's most active volcano, with no doors... It is called the hottest helicopter ride on the planet.)

 
 

Fomos também conhecer o parque e jardim botânico de Hilo.
(We also visited the parks and botanical garden in Hilo).

NOVA ZELÂNDIA / NEW ZEALAND (S. Island) - Lake Tekapo and Christchurch

South Island

Cidade/city: Lake Tekapo

Novamente a paisagens dos lagos azuis no caminho.. Na minha opinião um dos lugares mais lindos do mundo!
Fica na região de Mackenzie e por todo caminho podemos apreciar as montanhas, a neve, o verde dos campos, o gado e o azul indescritível dos lagos. Ele cobre uma area de 83 km2 e altitude de 800 mts do nível do mar
(The blue colour of the lakes all the way through... It is one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It lies in the heart of the Mackenzie country and covers an area of 83 square kilometers, 32 sq.mi, and is at an altitude of 700 mts, 2,300 ft, above sea level).

 

 Igreja do Bom pastor, é a mais fotografada igreja na NZ.(Church of the Good Shepherd, one of the most photographed in NZ.)

Mt John - é onde está o melhor observatório da NZ,  situado a 1,029 mt. E devido a transparência e estabilidade das noites claras, podemos ver as estrelas... Desde a constelação até os cosmos. Maravilhoso!
(Mt John was chosen as the best obsercatory in NZ due to its high ratio of colear nights throughout the year and the stability and transparency of its atmosphere. You can see from constellations to the cosmos... Amazing experience!)

 

 

 

 

 

Cidade/city: Christchurch

Essa é a cidade onde Ellie está morando, ela que me ajudou a preparar toda minha viagem a NZ e agora estava me mostrando sua cidade.

Christchurch foi muito destruída com o terremoto que aconteceu em 22.02.11e 185 pessoas morreram. Ela é a maior cidade da ilha do Sul com população de 341.000 pessoas.
(This is the city where my friend Ellie lives, she is the one who helped me with the travels and now she was taking me to see her city.
(On Feb.22nd Christchurch had a 6,3 earthquake and a total of 185 people were killed. Christchurch is the largest city in the South island and the population of 341.000.)
